Mnet Face of Africa 2008
Chasing the Dream
18 beautiful model contestants made the final cut for the second last stage of this year's M-Net's popular Face of Africa search. The models were Selected by Face of Africa scouts Kaone Kario (Face of Africa 2005) and model veteran Andiswa Manxiwa, over a six week cross-continental tour. The 18 headed to the scenic island of Zanzibar for Model BootCamp where they were given a birds-eye view of the modeling industry as they learnt more about fitness, health, catwalk skills and media. It was up to the girls to prove to the judges and television audiences that they had what it takes to become Africa's next great supermodel. As part of their stay, they took on starring roles in a glamourous music video shoot for ultra-popular Idols winner Eric. The beauties also promoted the awe-inspiring landscapes of Zanzibar when they participated in a video shoot for a special television commercial designed to promote the wonders of the island. Whilst there, these dazzling new stars also hit the runway at Swahili Fashion Week.
