My brother's bachelor's party was exceptional mainly because of four reasons. Firstly about 20 of my foremost foes and best buddies had converged under the same roof in a never seen before occurrence

Secondly was the finely selected quartet of go-go dancers, the 'ideal' gift from Sammy to my bro Randy. The third thing was the glow on my brother's face throughout the party. You could see how he gleefully stood out from the drunken lot of us... his life was making a 360 degrees turn in 48 hours. The fourth thing, which also made us all cringe was when Sammy suddenly rose up, glass at hand to propose a toast."To my dear friend... I have no idea what or who sucked you into this portal called marriage. But as you emerge on the other side, know that once she becomes your wife, she will get fat, quit her job and start having kids, all this time your coronary will be the most treasured, most fragile part of you! I'm sorry man... to Randy," we all stood there not sure if we should applaud the toast, or kill the guy. That was exactly two years and three months ago as I sit down to write this piece.

Space intrusion
Guys are fond of guy things. There is always that inborn urge to have enough space to waste for our gizmos & doohickeys. Stuff like cars, handy tools and kick-ass action flicks. But once she enters your life the lady gradually starts dolling up the space. Setting pace for an unfortunate metamorphosis from a manly ambience to a 'pink' lovely room with pink pillows and cute drapes. Your bathroom becomes a cosmetic shop and the flowers all around make you sick... literally.

Freedom
The independence to make our own decisions and run our lives by our own rules is a vital part of any man. When a woman enters the picture, all the choices a guy has are sooner or later kicked to the curb, where the rest of the trash is. Suddenly everything you want to do has to be cleared with her first. And her answer is almost always, "No-- we're a couple now.
