Savour the Magical Rift Valley Lakes

Take it Easy

A new year, a fresh sense of purpose propped by distinct progressive 2009 decrees.  The need to accomplish better than the departed year cannot be stronger than at its blossom.  Yet, the much we burrow our mental and physical energies deep into our daily practice, the more jittery we get. The need to take a breather in between is key to maintaining the momentum.  What other way to unwind than trip a serene out of town attraction.

An excellent pick to loosen up the mind, body and soul from a tiresome schedule and accumulating stress is to visit the marveling fresh water lakes of the magnificent Rift Valley.  A two-hour drive from Nairobi to the escarpment town of Naivasha will get you to the tranquility of Lake Naivasha.

The Nairobi-Naivasha-Nakuru highway is well carpeted so be sure to be bowled over at the sights along the route soothingly.  The lake is a beautiful shallow freshwater that is fringed by dense papyrus and surrounded by an evergreen lush forest.

From the top of the escarpment of the Great Rift Valley you will see Lake Naivasha sparkling in the sun thousands of feet below, and this will set right your expectations for the countless of activities and attractions awaiting you.

Boat Trip

The natural wonders of Lake Naivasha are best explored by means of a boat trip which can be taken from many lakeside lodges and campsites, providing an ideal opportunity to see large pods of Hippo lying half submerged in the water. You well get a memorable close up of the sights of plenty of fish and the attraction of all manner of fish eaters.
