Rocking Stiletos
Choosing the perfect heel shoe
Being fashionable isn't always comfortable. Today's highly modernised urban woman for instance, has developed a real love affair with high heels. Unlike previously when she chose shoes for practical use and comfort, she has now replaced that with high heels that offer sleek lines and height.
Well, it is a fact that the right pair of high heels can make your feet look sexy. Unfortunately, legions of shoe buyers forget there are several aspects to deliberate on before making that highly anticipated purchase.
And while the aesthetics are appealing, the feet end up paying the price. In fact, many tend to force unfitting shapes that don't fit properly. The consequence is suffering that makes walking and standing unbearable. Picking out the perfect heel for your foot should help.
- First, consider your body weight. Narrow heels and stilettos look best on people with a more slender build, and with fashions that are lean and slimming. People with heavier builds should look at platforms or thicker heels to keep things looking balanced and proportional.
- Pick your colour and style. Basic black is the classic look and remember that the more open the shoe, the less support it will provide, with the least supportive shoe being a thong type sandal.
- Get the right fit. Take your time about trying them on, and spend some time in them in the store. An important test is to stand on the floor in the shoes with your knees straight. If you can't do that, the heels are too high, and you shouldn't wear them; you'll end up walking and standing with your knees bent.
